Self-Care Sunday with Jean Eng
Self-Care Sunday with Jean Eng
Self-Care is probably one of the hardest things we don’t do for ourselves. If you’ve got a family, a job, or both, chances are you are the last on your list of priorities. But it doesn’t have to be that way. One of the easiest things you can do to relax is self-massage.
Modern life can put us in states of stress, anxiety and hyper vigilance that we’re just not designed to tolerate. We are sending the opposite kind of signals that we want to our nervous system: to stay alert and be prepared for flight or fight. Good self care habits like breath work and self-massage can help change that as the two go hand-in-hand.
This mini workshop will help give you the tools to do simple breath and self-massage techniques at home that can help you alleviate stress while also relieving minor aches and pains. It will feature the Yoga Tune Up Balls, so if you have a set please bring them. If not, they will be provided. Come in comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat if you have one. This workshop is great for beginners and no previous experience is needed. We will serve a light brunch with coffee and tea & hope you will invite a friend to join you for this special workshop. You can redeem your ticket as a store credit if you decide to do some shopping while you're here.

About Jean:
Jean’s interest in yoga started in her late 30's. Long before that, she spent many years behind the scenes in busy television newsrooms, getting her start at CBC in the early 90’s before helping launch BNN, Canada’s first all business news channel in 1999.
The same passion and curiosity that drove her as a journalist continued in her movement education. The yoga that Jean both practices and teaches has evolved as she continually does her best to keep up with the best methods and practices that are guided by the latest science and research. She most recently completed a 300-hour Graduate Yoga Training with Jules Mitchell in 2019 and is also a certified Yoga Tune Up Teacher and Roll Model Method Practitioner. Before that she taught hot hatha yoga after graduating from Bikram Yoga teacher training in 2012.
Increasingly, she is developing an interest in helping people deal with stress and anxiety, as well as those looking to find ease of movement in their bodies as they age. She currently teaches private classes in Toronto.
